Yellow Noses - Third Chapter
I posted the third chapter of the Yellow Noses on simhq.
All is quiet on the movie front for the time being. I already have 3 minutes of film but last week it almost seemed that the whole project would come to a crashing halt.
I use the lionhead game, The Movies, to film the different scenes. However since the ingame movie editor is of low quality, each scene is exported and edited in Sony Vegas. One of the tricks that I use to edit scenes is using blue screens.
As such I can film an actor in front of a blue screen, put the second actor and background in a second film, merge the two films and simulate an ongoing conversation. Unfortunetaly using a lot of blue screens in the same vegas project requires a lot of memory during rendering, something which i don't have (I have currently just 1 Gb Ram and with the current prices I don't intend to expand it).
Off course with not enough RAM for rendering, Vegas crashed, crashing my PC along. Furthermore the entire Vegas file for the movie became corrupt. Luckily for me i had a backup. But now I am forced to render each scene seperately and create a final Vegas project with all finished scenes to compile the entire film.
On one hand it is a lot more hassle to create the final film, but on the other hand it is much easier to reshoot and edit an existing scene since its changes are immediately translated through to the final film.
Anyhow, you still have to wait for the Foxhole, but in the meantime enjoy reading Yellow Noses.
Happy reading
