New way of publishing

It seems that SimHQ is down for the moment, which prevent me from post the final chapter in the Yellow Noses storyline.

You might already have spotted the Google-ads in this blog. Yes, I am trying to make some money out of my stories. But I don't expect to become a multi-millionaire of it. Writing stories must remain fun in the first part. Anyhow at the rate that I get hit it will take ages before our friends at Google will send me my first cheque.

I have been looking at means of improving my hits, but I don't want this blog to suffer under the weight of ads. Since this blog acts more like a journal, I imagine not many people will keep returning to it (please prove me wrong!).

The only way to get more visibility on my ads is by posting stories (I know that I get on average about a hundred readers per post). But this central blog, which was intended to host the links to all my stories, is not fit for posting stories. Blogs tend to put the latest post on top, which would mean that the last chapter would be the first chapter you would have to read.

Luckily the good folks at blogspot figured a way to solve this. Hence I now can post my stories as a finished novel. I am not quite sur how I will work with simhq, there are several models that I could use:

  • Post a message at simhq with a link to my blog/novel each time a chapter is ready
  • Post each chapter at simhq, with a final post when the novel is ready
  • Post teaser chapters at simhq, referring to the novel
I guess I'll contact the webmaster(s) at SimHq to ask their opinion. I can imagine that they would not like somebody to lure readers away, but it could also be mutually beneficial since I could put a link on my blog/novel back to their site.

With all my ranting I forgot to add the link to my novel. You can find it here (don't forget to select chapter 4, the final chapter)

Happy Reading
